I think there should be more standard extensions. I started saving TestGen4Web files as "tg4w". And the Jython stuff was naturally stored as ".py". But what should the scenario files be stored as?

Frank Cohen replied:

By default they are stored as .xml. Perhaps .scenario would be better? I'm open to your ideas.

Details of idea about organizing PTT artifacts

Changed 5 months ago by fj

Two thoughts on this, coming to PTT as I do with a fresh set of eyes - use two-level file extensions, based on file purpose and file format; or probably better, use directory hierarchy to organize PTT artifacts. I suspect the underlying desire here is to better organize and manage PTT artifacts. I think there are some implementation and management advantages to using a directory hierarchy approach over loading all this extra meaning into filenames.

I've attached a file (ptt148.txt) with additional detail to expand on my thoughts. - fj
